Because the products are labor-intensive, to maintain the traditional flavor and authenticity of the original recipes, this program employs a great number of people, many of them women, heads of household, and contributes to the local economy through continuous employment.
We employ over 120 people that lovingly make the most authentic tamales in California, in our 28,000 sq foot, USDA inspected plant, in Harbor City CA.

Our Product
After Corn Maiden Foods ™ early beginnings selling the most authentic, hand-made and artisanal tamales at the Farmers Markets around LA, it caught the eye of chefs, and people hungry for traditional and authentic foods from Mexico.
The company, known for its award-winning tamales, began making other specialty foods for chefs, caterers, kitchens and restaurants in town.
The company makes authentic East-LA style taquitos, hand-rolled, made with simple ingredients and a lot of flavor.
It uses only the best fresh tortillas, its meats are braised slowly in small batches and the taquitos hand-rolled, ready to fry or to cook in a pan.

It also makes California-Style burritos and Chimichangas, dripping with the flavors and the love of Mexico, but with the attitude and indulgence of the Streets of Los Angeles.
The line of taquitos, burritos and chimichangas took off, and the products made it into stadiums, corner joints, street vendors, Farmers Markets, high-end restaurants, traditional taquerias, and lunch trucks.

In 2022, the company began packing its successful products in simple retail presentations, to make the product available to home-cooks everywhere.
The company still hand-rolls all of its taquitos, still slow-braises its meats in small kettles, hand-wraps its burritos generously and with love, in the best possible tortillas.
